It is important to dedicate time to conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment used during curricular, intramural, and interschool activities as well as conduct visual inspections prior to student participate in physical activities.
Did you know that the Tools and Resources section of the Ontario Physical Activity Safety Standards in Education (OPASSE) provides Sample Safety Checklists for: Gymnasium Equipment, Gymnasium Facilities, and Outdoor Facilities. These sample checklists identify potential locations and equipment to be inspected in order to keep students safe during physical activity and help minimize or prevent injuries.
