Environmental Considerations
Special Rules/Instructions
- Safety rules associated with the activity must be clearly communicated to the students prior to participation and reviewed/enforced as necessary throughout the activity.
- Emphasize controlled movement when requiring students to move backwards.
- Intentional physical contact for the purpose of gaining an advantage (for example, body contact, equipment on body, equipment on equipment) is not permitted.
- When a goalie is used, a crease area must be established. During activities, the crease is restricted to the goalie, and other players, or their equipment, are not permitted in the crease.
- Communicate to students the importance of being aware of the location of other students around them in order to practice the skills of throwing and catching and avoid being hit during the practice of skills.
Transporting Portable Goals
- The Teacher must provide instructions to the students regarding the safe movement of the portable goals. Only students who have been properly trained can assist the Teacher with moving portable goals. Direct Supervision is required.
- The Teacher must establish and direct students to a designated area, away from the path of the moving portable goals, to avoid students interfering/colliding with a moving portable goal.
Supervision
- On-Site Supervision is required after students' demonstration of proficiency.
